I live in TO and we are ready for the NFL. We are the fourth largest city in North America and support the Leafs, Raps and Jays without a problem. We love our sports and this city would take the NFL to a whole other level. When people refer to us as an international city I disagree. Even though Canada and the US are different countries we speak the same language, shop at the same stores, eat the same foods at the same restaurants and more. The only real difference is the weather and this doesn’t affect Toronto, for we have the same weather as New York City, Detroit and Chicago. We support the Raptors and Jays just fine and we love our teams. Toronto is hardly a basketball city or baseball city, but our teams have support. MLSE is the largest sports industry in all of North America and Torontonians love NFL football far more than hockey any day of the week. Whether we have a winning team or not we are a football city, come Toronto and you will know this. The Super Bowl would not only be great for the city but for the NFL. Toronto is a strong, bold, NFL hungry city and I know that under Mayor Rob Ford we will have an NFL size stadium ready in the next few years for sure. NFL, brace yourselves because there is no way you can turn down the proposal of a franchise in a monstrosity of a market like Toronto. – Cole H. (age 13)

CFL man is typical of all the “naysayers”-there is some kind of “patriotism” involved in favoring the CFL because its “ours”. The bottom line is that no one in the GTA cares about the Argos anymore-even during the “Flutie years” the Dome didn’t sell out. I agree that an NFL is more of an “international” franchise not some regional league like the CFL. It has been estimated that selling seat “licences” would alone generate enough to cover the cost of a new stadium These CFL “lovers” also claim that the Blue Jays and Raptors are failures and any NFL team would be the same—then tell me something-Seattle which lost its NBA team and has a money losing MLB team (Mariners)-still sell out every Seahawks game at Quest Field (~68,000)–do you not believe Toronto would do the same?
